Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Naam Jaap ("we", "our", or "us") handles information in connection with the naamjaap.life website (including our blog) and our mobile applications. By using the website or our apps, you agree to this policy.
1. Scope
This policy covers (a) the naamjaap.life website and blog, and (b) our mobile apps (Naam Jaap, Panchang, Mandala and Hanuman Chalisa Sadhana). Each app may also have its own detailed policy on its page or store listing.
2. Information We Collect
On the website: We do not ask you to create an account or submit personal information to read our content. The only personal information we actively collect is an email address you choose to give us when subscribing to our newsletter (see Section 11). We do not sell personal data. Standard, non-identifying technical information (such as browser type, device, and general location) may be processed by our hosting provider and by the third-party services described below.
In our apps: Most app data — such as chant counts, preferences and progress — is stored locally on your device. Where an app offers optional sign-in or cloud backup, that is described in the app's own privacy policy.
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, understand how it is used, and (where enabled) to display advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.
4. Advertising and Google AdSense
We may display advertising on this website through Google AdSense and other Google advertising products. In connection with this:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick / DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at www.aboutads.info/choices.
For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
5. Analytics
We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the website so we can improve it. These tools may set cookies and collect usage data in aggregate, and are not used to personally identify you.
6. Third-Party Links
Our website and blog may link to other websites and to app store listings. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third-party sites.
7. Your Choices
- Manage or delete cookies via your browser settings.
- Opt out of personalised ads using the links in Section 4.
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time, or ask us to delete your email (see Section 11).
- Contact us to ask any question about your data (see Section 12).
8. Children's Privacy
Our website and apps are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, and rely on reputable service providers (such as our host and Google) that maintain their own security practices. However, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
11. Newsletter and Email Subscription
If you subscribe to our Sunday Naam Jaap Letter using a sign-up form on this website, the following applies specifically to that email list:
- What we collect: your email address, and your name only if you choose to enter it. Nothing else is required.
- Why we collect it: solely to send you the weekly newsletter — upcoming vrat and festival dates and one gentle practice. We do not use your email for any other purpose, and we do not send unrelated marketing.
- Where it is stored and processed: your email is stored in our own database on our website's server, and messages are delivered through a standard email-sending service (SMTP). We do not use a third-party email-marketing platform, and we never sell, rent or share your address.
- How to unsubscribe or delete your data: every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you may unsubscribe at any time. To unsubscribe or ask us to permanently delete your email from our records, you can also write to us at thelotuspeacock@gmail.com.
12. Contact Us
For any questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at thelotuspeacock@gmail.com — or via our Contact page.
